First official 5k run

So, having stopped running for a while after graduating l found myself having to start again after somehow registering for a marathon next year! I picked C25K up from week 6 and have just completed R1Wk8, actually running non-stop 5k in the alloted time! Previously l had only managed 4.7k in the time allowed. Onwards on upwards towards 10k now, though a marathon seems miles away (pun intended!)

Welcome back and congratulations on your first 5k.

Take care not to overdo it.

We are all capable of doing way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increasing our injury risk. Sticking to gently progressive training plans is the safest way to push our limits, whilst gently increasing our resistance to injury.

Injury often strikes out of the blue and can stop you for days, weeks or even months.
