Week 9 Run 1

Nodded off on the sofa last night and woke for 4:30 😩. By 6 just gave up on getting at least a extra hour so sneaked around and gathered my running gear. Pouring down again (think I must be getting your quota Vespina!!)

I don't mind the rain, beats it being too warm or too windy, and had me refreshed as I started off. Quite a strange feeling being out this early for a change, dull and foggy in places but the whole place was mine. Aside from the puddles which I've become accustomed to, a few areas had been oversaturated making them either slippy or boggy so think I covered just about every type of stride, step and leap at one point or other which made it a tad more interesting 😬

The run itself went well, better than the previous two in week 8 and the extra two minutes didn't make much difference. Had a two day break between W8R3 and W9R1 which was needed - was burnt out end of week 8. Still niggly pains that put a small dent in the enjoyment when out but had expected worse and recovery is quicker. Satisfaction on completing a run overrides any of the discomfort 😁

2 to go!! 🤪

Aw no, more rain! It poured here today… but it was a rest day. I’m beginning to feel bad about this 🙈

Congratulations on getting out there for a sneaky morning run. It’s always a lovely time to go.

Just take it easy on the next ones. Only an hour until graduation.

Ha, luck of the draw. Was a lovely weekend especially Saturday at 18° but nope.. rest day. At least was good day to dry out all my running stuff 😁. Had thought of some ways to spice it up for week 9 but chickened out to play it safe and plenty of time later to mix it up. Physio has me busy for next 5 weeks so don't think she'd appreciate a call with an additional issue 😂

Slow and steady is definitely the name of the game right now. Would be awful to get incapacitated so close to the end.
