Can’t believe I did it!

Completed run 3 today of week1. I love the feeling of exhilaration after a run. I cannot believe I did it and I’m really looking forward to Mondays run. My voice choice is Sarah Milligan. Because she doesn’t make me feel so intimidated . I smile when she encourages me as I run off “me cake shelf” 😂

I think Sarah is brilliant. I had a different trainer but I can just hear the sort of commentary she’d be giving in my head. Well done for finishing week 1. Enjoy your rest day(s) and roll on week 2!

Awesome! Let’s do this.

Thank you. I love that there is so much support. I’ve tried running on my own before and gave up feeling I’d failed. This time I feel more positive.

Good, you should! It's so hard to start. Use this forum to get support. I posted all the time to be accountable and when i found it hard, others said they had too. Think of us as a massive support team cheering you on! Someone said to me, we are all behind you... I wasnt sure about that image ;-) Well done!

Well done, wheresyourmum. Such enthusiasm will keep you in good stead throughout the program! And it's getting started that is always the hardest so you should be all set!

Just out of curiousity, how do you change your voice coach? I'm not sure that I had an option. Saying that, I am and was completely happy to stay with Laura...but I am curious.

Happy running.

I didn’t change anything but was given a choice on the initial set up. Try settings. I’m no techno so just followed instructions.

Laura's the girl. I don't think I could have taken Sarah seriously.

The exhilaration................you are a run junkie, exciting your endogenous morphine and cannabinoid receptors................there is no hope for you.

Woohoo! I didn’t get that exhilaration until week two, but now I’m hooked!

Congratulations. I completed run 3 week 1 last week. Although I’m going to repeat week 1 again as recovering from a chest infection so taking it steady.

That is excellent! W1 is often a little daunting and here you are at the end of it. Week 2, as I recall, is not too daunting, BUT I would urge you not to try and go too fast. It's temping to, but hold back and enjoy every moment. Remember, run at a pace where you can chat - even if it's just to Sarah, your virtual running coach - she will understand! Now, a word of caution. It may not seem like it yet, but running is like a drug - the more you do the more you will want to do. Before long you will be browsing Youtube for running videos and looking enviously at the UTMBers and the like. Have fun, take it steady and we all look forward to hearing that you have completed W2.

That's ok as long as you find the videos of Slow Running :)
