C25k? or C230Mins?

I've just finished week 8 and its becoming clear that 5k won't be happening for me unless I include the warm up and warm down walks (to be honest I've been running in these bits to get up to 5k) . Is that allowed?

Well done.

Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.

It is far safer to stick to the plan, which will keep injury risk minimal..........I doubt you would be pleased with yourself if you got injured while doing more than the plan.

Warm up and cool down are an important part of the workout and should not be forgotten. This FAQ Post explains healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Congratulations on almost completing C25K with run 3 of week 8, only 3 more runs until you graduate, you don't need to run 5K in 30 minutes to graduate, as long as you run 3/30 minute runs that is enough for you to graduate, irrespective of the time it takes, good luck for your graduation run 🏃🏾 😊.

Forget the 5k .It's not a requirement for graduation.

It's completely irrelevant.

Have a look at this

Thanks - Its official - I was planning to will organise a party at the finishing line but as its going to be a movable thing I will ask them be prepared to run to wherever I get to. Think that will make for a memorable occasion. 👍😂😂😂

Got the final run on friday. We liked your idea so much of the trailing buffet table that my wife and four sons have threatened to act it out with a wallpaper pasting table decorated for the occasion. If they do I won't be able to run for laughing!

😂😂😂 oh my days, that would be just hilarious!! Well, it's either that or you're completing your graduation run clutching a pork pie and a packet of Quavers 😁 Best of luck with your run and can't wait to hear about it! 😄

🤣🤣🤣! If you keep going after graduating you can slowly increase your distance week by week, say over a year. Google 'Park Run' and your location to see if the Saturday 5k runs are near you. That'll give you incentive to build up your distance. Enjoy your movable feast 🤗!

Indeed - I already registered and was surprised to see some friends that I haven't really seen for about 10 years are regulars at the local run. Thanks

Definitely C230 minutes FargoH . It's simply that that doesn't trip off the tongue as easily as C25K, hence the name.

You'll have plenty of time to run further, should you choose to, once you've completed and consolidated C25K.

Also, fwiw, I completed C25K at the end of June 2020 and I rarely manage 5K in under 30 minutes.

Happy running!

After nearly 3 years running and we’ve never managed to be fast enough to run 5k in 30 mins but we can run and keep going for long times which is more satisfying Sounds like you are doing brilliantly
