W9R3 complete - the second time around

I did not ask for the badge, when I completed my C25K the first time. I was able to run 4.19km on the W9R3 on March 13th, 2021. I continued to run regularly (3 times a week) till the end of August 2021. Then 'life happened' (my father was diagnosed with cancer, lots of travels abroad to coordinate palliative care.... and he died at the very end of November). In January 2022, I stepped on the scales and found myself being 7 kg heavier. My BMI was 'overweight' and getting very close to 'obese'. That freaked me out and I started C25K the second time around. I persevered, despite another urgent trip abroad, where I still ran 3 times a week in freezing temperature. So, yes, I would like to get my badge, please! Interesting that this time I manage to get to 4.45 km (Adidas app, the same as last year) or 4.6 km on Fitbit (new, reward and motivation for myself). I am getting close to 50, female. So, despite being 7 kg heavier at the start, I made a better progress. (These were consistent times, not just 'a good' or 'a bad' run). What I am most proud of is that during these 9 weeks of running, and monitoring my food intake, I have lost 6 kg. I hope to continue and I hope that 'life will not happen' again this year. Thank you for the support of this community, when I posted at the start of my C25K in January 2022.

That’s a story of real adversity, JB. Very sorry about your Dad. Running is a good time to reflect on bigger things. Congratulations 👍👍

Congratulations and sorry for your loss. Running has helped me with grief in the past and you’ve reminded me of this and inspired me to keep going.
