Week six, run three completed.

Twenty-five minutes of non-stop running is a lot to ask of someone who makes a three-toed sloth with gout look active. But as per recommendation, I started at an easy and steady pace and didn’t overexert myself. There came a point when I started to think I’d bitten off more than I could chew, but then Laura, my friendly C25K coach who lives in my ears, chipped in to tell me I’d completed half the run and that motivated me to continue. Then before I knew it — and most importantly, before I collapsed in a quivering heap along the canal path and expelled my last breath on this world — she piped up again to tell me I only had one minute left. One minute! Come on son, you can do it! And I did. I completed twenty-five minutes of non-stop running. Okay, so it was probably more like twenty-five minutes of determined waddling; but the point is, I did it. That's the most I've ran since school days and those dreaded PE lessons I'd bunk at every opportunity. In all seriousness, if I can do it, then anyone can. I'm feeling pretty chuffed this morning, I must admit. Onwards and Upwards!
