This week has taken longer to complete than I would have liked what with work being so busy and the storms and heavy rain last week. Finally managed to get myself out there for a night run. These are not my favourite but I have a body torch so of I set. Nothing much to report other than less distractions at night and on this particular route (around a sleepy housing estate - it had to make do instead of my usual daytime trails). The run itself was fine, no struggle but I definitely need to do more stretches as a few niggles in shins and knee along the way.
Week 4 I intend to get two runs done before going away (Seville!!!) for a few days. I am hoping to use hotel gym or local park for final run. Let’s see how it plays out. 🏃♀️🧳😎
As I ran I listened to Desert Island Discs and this time it’s Lyse Doucet - war correspondent talking about her fascinating but high risk life in Africa, Iraq and Afghanistan. Of course now she is in Kyiv..and the thought came to me that nobody is going for a run over there, at least not for fun 🙁

Well done on your snoozy housing estate run. Different runs have many differing vibes don’t they. And how exciting to be going to Seville! Oooh you should definitively see if you can run outside, what a great way to see somewhere new. And yes, we are so lucky to be able to run where and when we want.
Desert Island Discs - good choice for company along the route.
I know what you mean about running in the dark. I go out in the early morning a couple of times a week, keeping to where there are streetlights but also using a body torch. At least the sun is starting to rise a little earlier now.
What a great post, Sloth. It'll be interesting to find out how the warmth of Seville compares to windy, chilly UK! And, yes, thinking of our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and giving thanks...🙏
