Well….I signed up ages ago and look at the app most days..but haven’t done anything. Life hasn’t been great and I’ve lost so much confidence which is not really like me and I feel so inadequate and useless….and the roads are not great for running…well I would struggle although people do run by. Anyway I have bought a treadmill and it has been delivered so once I get it up I can start at home then hopefully gain some confidence to go out on the road a bit and possibly reduce my meds. I have discussed all this with the nurse I see at the surgery and she is so supportive. So I have everything to gain…..I’ve just got to burst this black cloud dragging me down and get started……
Anyone else struggling with depression and anxiety, and having difficulty sleeping and had their confidence shredded….

Just echoing the sentiments here, whatever you manage to achieve will improve your mental health beyond the reach of medication, it’s something for you, & will reward you in so many ways, keep on keeping on, every effort is a reward for you!
You've made a great first step in getting the treadmill, you seem so determined to overcome the barriers stopping you. That's a great attitude to have and will help you progress through the programme! It can seem impossible to start, but you will not feel worse, only better. The boost to your self-esteem will help you get a little of your confidence back.
Do you have a friend you could do C25K with? Another idea is to set one goal only: week 1. That's all, no more goals to start with. Setting goals you cannot fail to meet will help your confidence too. Either way, you've made a great start! Wishing you all the very best with the next step.
Hi FenGirl1, yes I completely understand having anxiety and/or depression sometimes makes getting up and going difficult and I'm finding the same currently.
Try to be kind to yourself and if you can't face it today then do it tomorrow 🙂 xx
Go FenGirl1! I hope C25k plays its part in your recovery. We’re all rooting for you and I’ll be looking out for your progress reports. 🏃♀️ Good luck and very best wishes
