Beating January gremlins πŸ‘πŸ‘

Two for the price of one, it's a BOGOFF run blog.

Monday's 5k was suited to shorts, the weather still definitely on the mild side for January, change is forecasted but today out there is just right for running, it was blowy running across the aqueduct but deserted and not a visitor in sight 🀷, in fact the only other living creature I saw was the πŸ‘ pictured who wasn't at all camera shy and just wanted to eat.

Fast forward to Wednesday ohhh the gremlins tried and yessssss πŸ’ͺ they failed, on dipping a toe outside, yep it's a man-tights day (all dress codes adhered to and nobody scared during the run 🀣). The weather hmmm πŸ€”rain, hail and sleet..... Yummy 😍.

I'd chosen my brooks cascadia shoes as the towpath does get really muddy and wet I'm sections, I don't do round, it's easier to plough on through, water goes in and out just as easily πŸ‘.

I even left my gloves on up until about 4k as the wind although weak was cutting with its chillyness.

Enough for today and January's feeling good already 15k run, and that's 15k more than December so βœ… winning.

So come on let's run, ignore that weather, you will dry! You will warm up, just don't think you have to wear everything you've got... Practise makes perfect in layering πŸ€“

Stay safe n happy running family lets run into 2022

Oooh! Meggings! πŸ˜‚

Well done on beating those pesky gremlins and echo those sentiments entirely Ian! I'm doing the plan in winter so need to be prepared to go out in all weathers (within reason 😁) It's never as bad as you think it will be once you are out.

I don't generally do gloves unless its sub-zero, but I could have done with them in yesterdays snow. ❄️πŸ₯Ά Thankfully I wasn't out too long, so no frostbite!

Meggins πŸ˜πŸ‘ kinda catchy Diane, you've took the plunge doing a winter C25K but I'm with you, rather than the summer πŸ₯΅

Definitely man-tights weather today here too. In the sun it was a sultry 6Β°C. Out of it, there was the occasional bite in the wind which made it feel much chillier.

Ahem " Meggins" as per Birdlady64 Terminology πŸ₯³

Evidently they now come with "anti VPL technology" 😱Google it if you're not sure- ladies we can all probably have a pretty good guess πŸ˜‚

Or, with absolutely no recommendations and other brands are available, see here

Oh definitely meggings today. Brrrrr πŸ₯Ά. Although I've been wearing mine since October. Just love them 🀣🀣🀣.

Great snaps you have taken there. It looks like the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct up near Chirk with what I think may be the Llangollen canal going over the top?

If it is, what a fantastic place to run. I have walked across the aqueduct and one day would love to go across on my friends narrowboat. Mind you, it would probably take about 10 days to get there

That's my regular run route

Oh my days. That must be absolutely fantastic. So perfect.

It's definitely exhilarating when there's a breeze up πŸ™ƒ

I've always said I'd like to walk across there some day. Unfortunately whenever I've been in the area it's always been en route to somewhere else.

Oh nowster you really must. It's absolutely fantastic. Hidden you are so lucky to have that as your regular run route. I planned to run there when on hols back in September but unfortunately my back had other ideas.

Ha ha!

Was staying in a lodge in the Serengeti once when a guest, fully kitted up in vest, shorts and trainers, decided to ignore the "Do Not Pass This Point" signs and headed off into the bush.

A few minutes later he reappeared headed back for the lodge at a speed that I swear Usain Bolt couldn't have kept up with!🀣

Namibia has long been on my bucket list though.

I think the dragons of Wales will suffice for this runner 🀣

β€’ in reply to

It certainly gives me the old butterflies in my stomach with that drop on the one side. Just magnificent.

β€’ in reply to

I still see people who insist on walking it and you can they're clearly terrified 😬
