After a 4 year break I decided to try Couch to 5k again. First run was Monday, got kit, playlist, earbuds etc sorted night before, no excuses. Went out, quite mild and not too bad. Second run this morning, with wind chill it was -3, ice on cars and a few icy puddles, almost turned back after warm up walk be suse it was so cold, but kept going and completed the run. So pleased I didn't turn back! Now on with the rest of the day!

Welcome back to the forum and well done on restarting.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I too came back to running after stopping a few years ago for several years. Just completed a 9K run this morning am now quite smitten with the running bug😁. The best advice I ever got was to run slowly, rather than try to force myself to complete 5K in 30 minutes- I was averaging 3.5K at that point. Focus on time running not distance covered. Good luck with the programme👍
