Day off work today, so a run in daylight. I seem to find the run2 harder, I think the reason is I usually do this on a Saturday morning, before breakfast, running on empty. What should I eat/drink before an early morning run.

Running on empty is generally absolutely fine, certainly for C25Kers - the amount of time you're on your feet for (30 minutes) and the distances you're covering, mean that no particular fueling is actually required. You'll have enough 'on-board' from the day before to see you through, provided you've eaten and drunk normally.
BUT ... it's also highly individual and probably psychological - if you've taken a small bit of energy in then you'll instantly feel better about your run.
If you're going to take in something immediately before you run, then maybe a few mouthfuls of an energy bar, a healthy oaty snack, or small bit of fruit, or some nuts, raisins etc and a few sips of water.
Otherwise, if something more substantial is required, leave AT LEAST 1 hour after you've eaten before going out for your run... This varies enormously - but try a small piece of toast or some fruit with maybe half a cup of tea or coffee or just some water. Be mindful that you don't want a a load of food and drink sloshing about in your stomach.
