A combination of self-pacing and chasing a "rabbit" in a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot last week earned me a 1st place in the 70-79 age tier with a time of 43:26. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the rabbit after the race to thank her for setting such a good pace. (I'd been running to Laura's Speed and Stamina tracks up until race day.) Running the 'high five' gauntlet to collect my prize pie amongst all the cheering was a high I won't soon forget. (That handsome young man to my right gaciously finished 1 second behind me.)
