Back to Wk8 run 2

So after having 2 weeks off with a chest infection and my diet going out of the window I decided this week I would go back to week 8 and see how it goes ..To be honest I was dreading it and thought I would have lost a lot of fitness and my stamina would drop… surprisingly I went out and run 2.24miles in 31 mins so i was happy.. I’ve done another 30min run this morning too but that felt like hard work and although i should be running 28mins only I have carried on both times so next week fingers crossed I will be able to finish the last week sessions .. I want to learn to love running and really enjoy it !!! At the moment I’m just thankful I’ve finished …I have no idea what my pace is all about as I clearly don’t run 8 min miles (I wished I did ) ..

my times very slow but I’m hoping to build stamina first and distance.

Well done.

As stated in the guide to the plan, you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running. After that loss of condition is gradual.

You are more likely to enjoy running if you don't push yourself.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

Counterintuitively, it is easy conversational pace running that builds your stamina and endurance, not fast running.

Stick to the plan........it works.......

no need to do extra.

Well done getting back out there !You wouldn't normally expect to loose much fitness in the first two weeks .

Don't be concerned with pace though this is just about time spent running .

Distance traveled is irrelevant.

Well done! A short break like that does no harm! Don't worry about your pace, which isn't particularly slow anyway! Please don't batter yourself. If you've had a chest infection it can take a while to completely recover, so it's best to keep it slow and steady!

Slow times, no such thing, time is time and in this case you ran for 30 minutes. Enjoy the runs
