So, I went out this morning for my usual 5k run on a new route I've been running for the last six weeks, and because of traffic meaning roads were frustratingly hard to cross, I took a diversion through the common near me.
Long story short, I got lost!
Fortunately I had my phone and google maps on me, so I worked out how to get back (which let's face it was 'run the way you came', but that's what got me lost in the first place). I'd already run my 5k, but it was going to take me nearly an hour to walk back, so after a slight walk for 5 minutes, I set my app going again, and ran the rest of it. Nearly home, and I was at 9.4k, which was /so/ close to 10k, so I took a small detour and then I was at 10k, running it in exactly one hour and five minutes.
And did not feel too shattered as I got in, although my legs are dead now
Not sure this will be a regular thing, but having thought this would be impossible for me, I'm so chuffed that I've broken through that barrier.
