Graduated: completed week 9 run 3 on Sat. At 6... - Couch to 5K
Graduated
Congratulations on graduating I look on it as the time spent running rather then distance, that can come later, you ran for a whole 30 minutes that's an achievement to be celebrated
Many congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.

Happy running
👏🎉well done you!! Enjoy
Congratulations on completing C25K
That’s great, well done! I’m a bit younger and don’t have COPD and am way off the 5k mark so I think you’ve done brilliantly! I’ve managed 2 runs since graduation and wouldn’t say I’m finding it easy - but not as hard as it was. Keep it up!!
Such an amazing and breakthrough achievement with all the personal battles you are going through! That’s no easy feat at all! I hope you are also finding lots of crossover benefits! I haven’t reached 5K in 30 mins either, it’s another goal to work towards! The strength and stamina you are building will help you to progress to 5K naturally over time!
Congratulations fellow runner of the over 60’s brigade. I also find it hard to do 5k in 30 minutes so sometimes run a little longer just to prove to myself I can do it. However I have decided not to worry about distance and just enjoy the run.
I graduated at the very end of August and have done regular consolidation runs 3 or 4 times a week since and I'm STILL nowhere near 5k! However, I can run 33 minutes comfortably with a 5 minute fast walk either side (which brings me up to around 4.5k) and have even started throwing in some Jeffing runs too, so I am progressing.
I'm 62, still two stone overweight (was three and a bit!), an ex-smoker of 30+ years standing so my lungs are aren't great, hypertensive (dropping rapidly mind), and I was diabetic although I'm now in the pre-diabetic range. Most of these imrpovements are as a direct result of running and have all come about in the space of just 4 months, so it's not just about that magic 5k in 30 minutes by a long chalk.
You will do it in due course, I'm sure, but for now just enjoy the running and count up all the improvements and blessings. Well done, fellow runner 😀
I’m so impressed ! I’m a respiratory nurse and I honestly don’t know one of my COPD patients that could run either 30 minutes or 5K, well done you, hope you keep it up, so good for your lungs 😀
thank you so much I am very slow and any bit of incline makes keeping going really difficult BUT if I remember to keep expectations sensible it really feels good to do it!
