Have any of you women out there pulled off a good look wearing compression socks when you’re middle aged + and not able to wear 2” shorts 😂 I would like to wear them but not sure they’ll work with my Sweaty Betty power leggings nor do I like the squishy knees they produce. I know! I shouldn’t care 😉

Compression Socks - women
Honestly, said the male, you really shouldn't care.
Running should be an unselfconscious empowering pastime................not a "Do my calves look big in this" exercise.
Just do it!!!!! To hell with anyone else.
Agree just do it who cares what people think
I used to care but I don't now. I am in my 50s and wear quite short cycling type shorts in the summer. Just go for whatever you feel comfortable in and don't worry about the look.
I wear compression socks if my calves feel niggly. I put them on first, then pull my Capri leggings on over them, don the T-shirt and shoes and I’m off. The world has not fallen apart yet, and I’m well older than you are. Comfort and the open trail I say!
I imagine your post was at least partly tongue-in-cheek Chesterlove . Even so, are you concerned about "pulling off a good look" because you think people will judge you, or does it actually matter to you?
Either way, know that this 60 year old has never pulled off any sort of good look when running. I run trails wearing Lidl and Decathlon clothing, frequently adorned with burrs, bits of grass and mud. Just call me Worzel Gummidge.
More seriously, worrying about how I looked was one of the factors that made me hate school sport as a teenager. It's taken decades to get past that and I'm damned if I'm going back there. Anyone who doesn't like the way I look when I'm running can simply look away. It's their problem, not mine.
Wear what you want, and enjoy your running.
Do you know, it wasn’t really tongue in cheek, as I really couldn’t see how I could wear compression socks if I wasn’t in shorts. I have, however, been a been shamed into realising the vanity of the question though 😂 I’d still love to see a not-so-perfect person wearing them though 🤭 although I come across a bit too confident at times, clearly I have a self-confidence issue 😕
I'm 62, still VERY overweight, and I run like a tortoise. I wear compressions when my calves are moaning, sometimes with leggings, sometimes with capri's, sometimes with cycling shorts when the weather is really hot. I really don't care what other people think, I run for me and not for them and for those that judge it says far more about them than it does about me!!!
I know, it's been a year since the post... hopefully, that's okay, as I've started wearing medical compression socks this year and am really grateful to your question, Chesterlove , since I've been asking myself the same thing... Heck, not just running. Every day. My solution so far: Color! I've gotten a bright yellow pair from Medi and love it... I think I might need to add hot pink next... And now I'll take inspiration from some of the answers here! Thank you, Cmoi and Over60sRunner , for that!
