Midlife and in a rut!

I'm hoping to get out of the rut I've fallen into of bad habits and zero exercise and to enjoy moving my body more regularly (and lose weight!). I haven't done my first run yet, so wish me luck ๐Ÿ€ I look forward to joining your community.

Good luck!

Number one tip for C25K is don't try to run. By run I mean sprint. A slow jog is all you need.

Despite its title, Couch to 5K isn't about running for 5km.

Welcome aboard! Get out there and get that first one done, that's the hardest part. Once that's done it's easier to keep it going! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Welcome and good luck. I was most definitely an overweight middle aged couch dweller but am proud to now call myself a runner (well very slow jogger!) having graduated a couple of weeks ago. Keep it slow and keep going. It won't necessarily help you loose weight but it'll help your motivation to make better choices. Still overweight (work in progress) but am definitely off the couch much more. Good luck.

Well done on joining the programme and good luck . If anything can get you out of that rut you feel youโ€™re in , then this will . Honestly it gives you something to focus on every other day and really motivates you and gives you a sense of achievement. My tip to you would be to not think too far ahead and take it one run at a time , youโ€™ll soon be looking forward to future runs , but take it slowly, rushing it or going too fast will put you off . Good luck and enjoy the programme ๐Ÿ˜Š

Joined one year ago this week. Did a 15K two weeks ago, plus a 10K last week and 11K today (albeit very slowly) after volunteering at Parkrun. I would have laughed last year if you had said I would be doing that. I am 58 and still overweight (less so than last year) but I have never felt so fit since maybe when I was a nipper. You can do this!
