Poor Lonely Me

I ran a PB (not) Parkrun last week but no one virtually ran with me, I felt so lonely ๐Ÿ˜€, really ๐Ÿ˜‚ however, I also ran a official Parkrun with another PB time 30.20, this time I ran with 206 runners including my friend Keith which was his first parkrun, last week there were 2051 (not ) parkrunners in the UK despite official Parkruns now taking place.

Oh no Al, the only (not) parkrunner in Dunfermline! That's *almost* a Simon and Garfunkel song ๐Ÿ˜, glad a few turned up at the actual one!

Ha Ha grumpyoldgirl, perhaps I was the only (not) parkrunner at Dunfermline but at the actual one which was Drumpellier Parkrun on Saturday, I ran with over 200 runners.

So that's where they all were๐Ÿ˜‚

Good work, Al.

You run better with or without company? I know the timeโ€™s better but itโ€™s more relaxing on your todd. Itโ€™s good to have both; I expect some of the continuing (non) parkrunners live too far from parkruns - or theyโ€™re cancelled, like ours was, two weeks running.

All my sub-31-minute runs have been ran at Drumpellier Parkrun, I think I am "carried along" by other runners so to speak, it is a mainly flat course with few sharp corners, no hills so the runners can keep going without easing up for a sharp bend or walk up any hills.

It looks like a nice course, Al.

That's two brilliant runs, well done on those PBs ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰ you made up for that lonely (not) parkrun by having loads of running buddies at the actual parkrun ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I hope your friend enjoyed his first ever parkrun ๐Ÿ‘

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateโ€ข in reply toBeatlesforever

Thanks Beatlesforever, my friend Keith who also goes to my Thursday morning walking club enjoyed his first parkrun, he wants to go back again to Drumpellier this Saturday, the following week he will go with me to my home parkrun at Dunfermline.

You are so correct, no one is lonely on those forums, we are all here to support each other.

Yes and that is whatโ€™s so good about this one

How can you be lonely with five and a half thousand running buddies around the world doing (not)parkrun with you, and countless more on here cheering you on?! ๐Ÿฅณ Fab time by the way.Hopefully you can soon be back at a proper parkrun and seeing other runners in person.

I have now ran at the 2 official parkruns I attend after the break from Covid, my 'homeparkrun' is Dunfermline although that's 25 miles from where I live but easy to get to by bus or car, the other parkrun I run at is 9 miles from where I live but more awkward to get to unless by car which I was taken to by my friend Keith on Saturday when I ran a PB.

๐Ÿ˜‚

I was the only (not) Park Runner on the Saturday before we restarted in Wales! I wondered if theyโ€™d all nipped over the bridge to England for a real one! ๐Ÿ˜‚

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateโ€ข in reply toLottieMW

Where there is a official Parkrun near where any one lives such as the English/Welsh border there will be many runners going to that parkrun although they have been asked not to go.

Well weโ€™re all open now soโ€ฆ๐Ÿฅณ

Great news for everyone, I just hope that The Republic of Ireland will resume parkruns soon, probably by the beginning of October.

The only one Lottie? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Good thing the real one is back, before things slide too far! ๐Ÿ˜ (Unless everybody was saving themselves for the 10k over the Severn bridge ...)

Thanks Birdlady64, I only used the word "lonely" because I was the only person who ran that (not ) parkrun. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ‘

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateโ€ข in reply toAlMorr

By the way Birdlady64, this Wednesday morning I ran my 64th (not) parkrun, this time I wasn't the only one running it but it was another (not) parkrun PB of 31.31, compared to last week (not) parkrun time of 31.52, so I am very pleased with that, this coming Saturday I will run my 20th official parkrun at Drumpellier Parkrun.
