I was first in my age class at Parkrun just now (yes, I know it’s not a race...). I was also the ONLY VM64-69 (Vintage Woman - 😍). I was not quite last and only a few seconds slower than last September (it’s been a looong slooow winter). BUT I ran all alone - apart from the occasional whoof of slipstream as I was lapped (and I really did keep going and found it easier slightly than i remember it last September). Where are all the other VM64-69-ers is my question???
Thank goodness I had myself down as with Club NHS C25k - so I thought of OF, Ju-Ju - and the rest of you . So thanks team - you virtually ran with the Lonely VM of Peacehaven this morning. And enjoyed the nectar-like gluten-free flapjack and latte in the caff after.
Thanks!!

Ahh so there you are! I was beginning to think that there was separate park run for women veterans / vintage/ valued 64-69 , I seem to be alone too (well apart from some super fit 69 year old that pins my ears back with wind as she rushes past). And another thing my local run seems to be mostly men
Still well done us for doing it, I just enjoy the lovely location of my run (Blickling Hall ) and find the solitude of the mature plodder rather relaxing.
Well done you, too!!! You are doing well. Yes, once I realised I was on my own, I found it soothing. I couldn’t even catch the woman who walked up the hills that I could run up ( albeit very slowly). Ah well, makes me long for my solo runs.
It certainly is many things Theziggy! I agree entirely. I really am so grateful that it exists and find the turnout (97 on Saturday!) and the diversity of people totally inspiring. I’d recommend it to anyone (especially VW64-69s - let’s go slow together- anyone can run fast !!! - let’s show em how to 🐌 ).
