Struggling a bit to be honest but hopefully week 2 might see me doing better. Have abandoned taking the pulling dog!
End of Week 1: Struggling a bit to be honest but... - Couch to 5K
End of Week 1
Welcome to the forum and the program .A lot find week 1 the hardest !
So well done on your progress .
Have you read the program guide ?

Keep all runs slow and remember to stay hydrated.
There is information on this and much more in the guide .
Enjoy the program
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
If you are struggling, then you are probably going too fast.........slow down to a pace at which you can speak aloud clear ungasping sentences.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Well done for finishing week one. Probably a good to not take the dog if it pulls and you can spend more time concentrating on the run or trying to zone out. Just make sure you drink at least 2.5 litres of water a day, do your stretches pre and post runs and run slow as possible...... This may be slower than you walk! Good luck and above all relax and enjoy. Keep us update, we are all rooting for you
Well done on completing Week 1 Hidden .
I definitely wouldn't attempt C25K with a dog on a lead, even a really calm, well-trained one. Or with a dog off the lead, come to that. There's enough to think about without trying to deal with a canine companion's bright ideas as well. (Disclaimer: this may be a reflection of my 5.6k walk with our dog this afternoon. Sniff, slow, quick quick sniff!)
Happy running!
I found it so hard too, but you can do it!!!! Congrats for completing week 1 ππππ
Another vote for abandoning the dog! I took her with me for the first two weeks, and then found that I was having to stop to clear up poop or retrieve her from some outrage. By Week 3 I'd decided that a nice sedate walk after my solo run was a *much* better idea.
