I put off running this morning as it was so windy here!!! My garden chairs had been blown all round my garden and a couple of plant pots had been blown over. I’d sensibly put the parasol in the green house out of the way- had visions of it taking off and spearing through the greenhouse roof 🤣 and my runnerbeans are in a sheltered corner so they are still fine. But I just could not face fighting for breath even more than usual.
So I sat about and sulked ….and then my daughter said she’d been and struggled with her run and I thought “ maybe this evening it will have died down… and if I leave it she’ll be ahead of me… “And then I thought “ get up and get out there before it’s too late!!” Luckily I listened to my own advice and get out there I did!! And ran at about 2.30.
It wasn’t as bad as I’d expected and I managed to run against the wind for the first half and then turn and have the wind with me for the last 3 runs. At least it wasn’t raining or scorching hot although I’d foolishly put a thin jacket over my customary short sleeved teeshirt and had to tie it around my waist after the first 3 runs. I had wavered about wearing it but kept seeing people walking past with thick coats on so foolishly thought it must be colder than it seemed indoors. Garmin says it was 16 degrees which is pretty mild so I’ll check temperature bit what other people are wearing in future
I went partway along by the river which was pretty choppy today before turning back along the other side of town. But there was a stiff breeze coming off the river as I ran and I was glad I had my headphones in my ears. Ive run along there when it’s windy before and no headphones and got a nasty earache.
Week 2 run2 out of the way again and I was quite a bit faster than the last run ( probably the wind behind me for the last half). I still don’t like running that late in the day really as there are too many people around for my liking ( antisocial git that I am). Added to that my daughter is just on her way round with a portion of chilli for my tea ( she’s been batch cooking and offered so I thought why not indeed?)
