Day of wild winds and knitting

I am facing retirement in a couple of years and today has shown me how it could be.....

I planned for us to have a cobweb blowing away walk on the beach to take photos of the high seas when i woke this morning but didn’t do anything much for several hours other than finish a miserable book and read posts here

As i was about to put some waterproof clothes on dow came the rain and Willow braved the outside, he said he was blown sideways and wasn’t going out again today so i sat down again

So the picture isn’t mine and the outside no longer beckoned, we discussed yoga and did the first plank and that’s the sum total of our exercise today other than watching the banana plant in the front garden wave back and forth bending but not yet broke

Stay safe all the wind will drop the sun will shine spring will be here before we know it and our legs will run

I’m happy not to be running round the pier today

One of the plus’s of retirement is having more choice about so many things. I choose exercise so much more now than when I worked but when the weather is yuck it’s good to have the option to stay cosy and choose to do indoor stuff. For me it was having time to cook a nice meal, listening to some of my favourite music and just relaxing a bit after a rather fraught week. 🤞the weather will improve and then I will be out doing my first 10 miles this week at a time that suits me. Hope you get out soon. 😊🏃🏻‍♀️

We love to run or walk and after a busy week at work actually needed this lazy day

Sensible decision Sola, it’s been pretty grim here on the coast hasn’t it! You don’t have to face retirement - embrace it! All that running time and time for doing or not doing - the choice is yours! I stopped working 3 years ago (not retired you understand, I’m far too young for that - if anyone asks I just say I don’t work anymore!) and I’ve never been busier! And it’s fun - you’ll love it!

Wow, it would have been dangerous to have ran or walked on that pier in those storm force 10 winds today, that is a very spectacular photo of very rough seas that Willow took, not the type of weather to be out on a small boat 🛥.

No definitely not boating weather

It is vicious out there!

I am sitting here with Merlin curled up beside me, and crocheting.

Hope you've had a good day. It doesn't sound anything like my retirement though. 😆

Southsea looked very much the same. We drove down on the way to the shops and decided it would be dangerous to get any closer . Waves were crashing in onto Southsea Common. wow.

It’s been really wild I’m now really looking forward to spring it feels like a long winter

Sounds like a nice day though....

The weather had me beaten today too, so my w5r3 run did not happen ☹️. There were far too many trees and a brick garden wall down near by for me to be brave enough to try!

So I joined the Strength and Flex forum and its Plankety-Plankathon and February yoga with Adrienne, so I was still productive.

Hopefully tomorrow might be a better run day......

I'm jealous!!

I cant wait until me and Snowgdss can sit with our morning coffee and say 'got any plans for the day'?

Sounds like you made a very sensible choice to stay indoors though. Hope you find a more interesting read!

Having a lazy day myself. Started with a bad cold at the weekend and it's gone straight to my chest. So no running for me for a few days :-(

Heal well and rest, winter colds and things knock us back a bit but the running is still there when we are better
