Not quite back to running regularly as I wanted, but I’m trying that’s for sure.

I really love the way running makes you feel, even if it does seem really hard sometimes.

Just don’t know why I can’t quite get back in to it as I’d like. I really want to, but motivation is an issue, always have good intentions and can be determined the whole day at work, but it’s so easy to talk yourself out of a run within minutes!

Feeling like there’s a bit of a mental battle with exercise at the moment. But hey ho.

I got out there this morning and smashed my run, underestimated how hot it would be πŸ₯΅

Really pleased with myself!

Don't see it as a battle. Don't try to smash every run, just relax into it.

Create some short, medium and long term targets for your running. Have a clear aim of what you are setting out to achieve on every run. This will help you develop some structure in your running and help define a specific training plan.

For many people slowing down to an easy conversational pace is an epiphany. Running becomes more enjoyable and moreover it is the most efficient pace at which to develop and adapt your body. Faster is not necessarily better.

Motivation is very personal, but you only get the improvements in long term health benefits by running regularly. I have always been a morning runner, pre work. This sets you up for the day, although at this time of year it does mean getting up early to avoid heat.

I know what you mean about the mental battle. The only way I get myself running is by getting out of bed and straight into my running gear. Once I'm in the clobber, my mind switches into "must be time for a run" mode, it's weird! In your case if you need to run after work - in through the door, bags down, get into running gear. Try it, it works.

Having said that, be kind to yourself in this sudden heatwave β˜€οΈ

Imagine you're meeting up with your best mate... you wouldn't let them down would you? Why do you deserve any less? πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

Hi, I totally get what you mean. I graduated 2 weeks ago and without the progression from the C25k plan I'm finding it harder to motivate to get out and run. The one thought that keeps me from missing too many runs is that it took a lot of effort to complete the C25k plan and I don't want to lose the ability to be able to run for 30 minutes now.

I'm like you and run after work and I'm finding it harder in this heat but I'm

Rubbish at getting up and doing a run before work either.

Well done for getting it done yesterday morning, I ran this morning before it warmed up too much.

Keep going you're doing well, be kind to yourself
