First goal achieved! 🌟

Went back a bit in the programme this week after being laid low for a few days last week with some sort of virus (no, not THAT one πŸ‘πŸΌ). I've found it ok building back up again and this morning made it round w6r3 😊 Actually found it quite comfortable and only the final 5 mins felt like a real push.

I'm just SO pleased that even after a legitimate setback I've got back into the groove and am now looking forward to starting w7 again next week! My first goal was to run consistently, and I now feel like I am achieving that. This is HUGE! πŸ˜ƒ The one big reason for this is the advice in this group to SLOW DOWN! I have started and restarted C25k several times over the last couple of years and have always found it too hard, not enjoyable and experienced aches and stiffness which would put me off going out again for a while - not a good way to start a running habit. I knew then that I had to stay slow, and thought that I was, but through this forum I have learned that it was not slow enough!

So a huge shout out and thank you ❀️ to everyone on here, members and mentors, for the constant message to 'slow down, then when you think you have, slow down some more'!

I now feel I am a regular runner and can look ahead to my next goal - making it to running for 30 mins. Week 7 here I come πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ

Well done! As runners we all have to deal with setbacks. It’s how we cope with them that counts. You had a setback and you’re back out there! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Slow is good. I managed to get out there this morning, too, and took my own advice for once. Successfully slow! πŸ˜„πŸŒ

Excellent, well done Jools! It seems that this is a lesson a lot of us take a while to learn. Speed is not the goal at the moment 😊🐒

That's fab you're in a great place with your running and you were able to pick it up again πŸ™‚. Good you're feeling better after the bug. I agree with your slow remarks! I think that's key for everyone who is struggling with running. I was the same and until I slowed down more than what I felt I should run I kept stopping too!

Thank you, yes I really am so pleased I'm sticking with it - can't wait for my next run! Yes I think running at a conversational pace is harder than I thought, but I think I've found the right pace at last! 😊
