How far am I actually running?: Ok, so now I've... - Couch to 5K
How far am I actually running?
I use Runkeeper. You could also try Strava.
I use runkeeper on my phone too (free version). As baddie said, there is also strava.
I plan my runs in advance using onthegomap.com, which you could also use post run to see how far you ran, there are other websites too, google maps too I believe
Yes, I use Runkeeper as well, as it has the most free functionality. For sorting out routes ahead of running, I use Footmap, also freely available for IOS and possibly Android.
You could use the free apps as mentioned, Strava or runkeeper.Or you might want to invest in a running watch ?
Garmin are very popular with people on here !
Your run can then be tracked by the watch and uploaded to the app afterwards
Good question, lme only on week6, but wasn't sure how to work it out, thanks
You can use the PC/laptop version of Google maps to measure your distance. Right click on a map the map that covers your route, then use the 'Measure Distance' tool to plot the route you run. That should be reasonably accurate.
I wouldn't worry too much if you're not running 5K, think I've read that around 90% are not achieving 5k at end of the 9 weeks.
The app is a bit misnamed..... but.... 'Couch to three thirty-minute runs a week' really doesn't trip off the tongue.
Good luck with your running. ππππππ
Get a fitness watch or just use an app like Strava on your phone (presuming you run with your phone with you) I have mine linked to my wireless earbuds so I get an audible update every KM of how far I've gone and how quickly I got there.
Nike run club also have a free app I quite like
Google Fit is free and you can track your activities if youβve got an Android phone.
