Anyone else finding wk4 really tough?! Just about did run 1 then when I attempted run 2 couple days back failed just couldn’t do it. Tried it again today and did it but on the last rest break before the last 5min had to stop few seconds and felt light headed once finished it. Feel like am going backwards and hitting a wall! ☹️

Are you running slow enough ?Can you speak ungasping sentences while running ?

If not then it's too fast

It's OK, you're not going daft. Week 4 is a big increase in running activity, almost double in fact. I found W4R3 the hardest of the whole programme. Odd, isn't it?

Week 4 is 3 minutes running, 90 seconds walking, 5 minutes running, 2½ minutes walking, 3 mins run, 90 seconds walking and 5 minutes running.

For a half-way house, you might like to shorten the second three minute run and walk the remainder of the 3 mins. Do that a couple of times, then retry week 4.

The other possibility is that you're trying to run too fast. I know I did. A slow jog is perfectly fine.

Well done on reaching W4. W4 is a big step up, and I wonder if you need to slow down a bit. The first five minutes always takes yr breath away as yr body builds up an oxygen debt. How is yr running posture and breathing and are yr feet landing directly beneath you?

We all find a hard patch now and then, most important thing is to realise that and keep going, we’ll all support you.

I have felt sickly on a number of my runs and I think it is because I am pushing myself. I found week 4 to be the start of when things started to step up. 5 mins is tough and the intervals between the 5 mins get shorter which will be a benefit in week 5 but feels like a hindrance in week 4. A number of people asked me if I was running too quickly and I wasn't so my problem was stamina or lack of it and there is only one cure for that my physio told me, more running 😁. If you feel light headed drink some water. Good luck

I found every run hard lol, but week 4, if I remember rightly, is a big step up in overall running time for the session. The constant increase from week to week was also hard for me. But the programme is good and you can do it. Slow down and breathe:)
