It was in the same place 😂. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Ok... so the day before W1R1 I’m assuming you did similar to me... very little! Then you went out there to your start line... you took a brisk walk (cardio exercise) and then did running and walking intervals (both cardio) and then a cooldown walk. Add all that up... I think it’s around 23/24 minutes of cardio exercise... that’s the biggest step up on this plan and you managed that one!

Look at the length of a week 3 workout... and a week 4 one... add it ALL up... there’s very little difference right? You can do it!

I did walk 7-10 miles every day before I started c25k I also do Zumba classes but I’ve been doing c25k in a treadmill in a gym and finding it mundane so was wondering if outside would be better as more to look at lol

Thanks a lot for replying xx

Outside is certainly more interesting... come and give it a go!

Sounds like you have a good fitness base... while 10 miles at brisk walk would be exceptional, all walking is good... and Zumba too.

You can do this... believe in yourself... amaze yourself,

Your right positive thinking hey thanks 💕💘😘

I’d recommend outside because as you say there are more things to look at, the terrain is varied, you see other runners etc. Once I started week 4 I really enjoyed it! (I had a major worry about it before I started, it’s normal:-).

Enjoy!

I felt just the same and was amazed to find that I could do it. I really wasn't sure. I've been writing about the whole experience on welshhillsagain.blogspot.com of you want a look. But essentially I've found that if I trust the programme and don't try to go too fast, it works! Good luck. I'm sure you will be fine!

I’m currently wk 4, two runs in. Overall I definitely feel like I’m pushing myself more, the first three weeks were a challenge but not too difficult. This week feels like a step up! That said, I’ve completeted all the runs, and I can really feel my stamina increasing. Couldn’t have run for 5 mins straight in week one for sure!

Thankyou. Well done 🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏽‍♂️

The jump from 3 to 5 minutes is hard. I couldn't manage it at first so I did 3 minutes then paused the audio and walked for a minute, restarted the audio then ran the last 2 minutes. On the 3rd session I managed to run it all together. I've repeated the whole of week 4 twice. I'm going to attempt W5R1 today. 😳

I'm on week 4 just now, I restarted it due to the snow halting my progress. The first time I done the run it was difficult but I blame the freezing weather. I did it again on Tuesday and I kept a slow and steady pace the entire time and honestly it was one of my easiest runs. I felt I could've continued through the cool down. I think finding the perfect pace has helped loads. I actually found week 2 the hardest.

Great thanks fingers crossed for me too x

I've just completed w4r2. The 2nd 5 min run of w4r1 was a struggle & i really had to push myself through it. felt like a massive jump from 3 min runs to 5 & it was definitely the hardest so far. I wasn't looking forward to w4r2 however it was surprisingly ok!

in reply to Bigtofit

Pooh great thanks I suppose it’s mindset too well done you and thanks x

I did W4 R1 yesterday and like you I thought it was a big jump, but amazingly it was fine. In fact I slowed it down and enjoyed it. Have fun x

I have just finished week, which seems to be a bigger jump, but I did it with relative ease. I am 62, never run before, but this system is working. Every week seems like a huge jump. I'm finding I can run for longer than I ever thought possible. I'm totally loving it.

in reply to Mymatilda

Wow great work well done yes positive thinking is a good place to start x

Found it a challenge but achieved it by going extremely slow!

(Embarrassingly slow🐢)

I've completed week 4 had to repeat a run as I injured myself run 2 so had a few days rest did loads of exercises mainly hip flexor then did next 2 runs I felt great just completing them total 16 mins running doesn't sound much to the average Joe but for me an achievement worrying about week 5 tho I might repeat week 4 just to check I don't injure myself

in reply to Runner62

Week 4 is harder than week 3, however you’ll get through it with no problem. I just hinished week 5 run 1. I hate to exercise, so if I can do it, so can you. Remember, slow and steady.

I have to say that week 4 didn't feel much different than week 3 when it came to doing it. Don't let your mind con you into worrying... the runs are getting longer but you are getting fitter. My experience is that the two cancel each other out so each run is just as doable as the last.

All the very best with your run!
