5th week of consolidating- ready for 40 mins now

My 3 runs this week were varied.

We were on holiday at the sea and the local option was to run along the sea wall. I felt very cautious as I don’t usually run on concrete so run 1 was week 1 , run 3 of couch to 5 k and run 2 was week 3 run 3 with an extra 5 mins. Even so I spent the time in between nursing my calf and a twinge in my lower back. Run 3 was back on grass in my park with a lot of warming up . My back began quite grumbly but I have emerged 35 mins later with a feeling of reset and no aches and pains. Odd but good. Next week I’m aiming to run for 40 mins as I could have gone on for a while longer today. Let’s see . Aiming to run “with “ my body not pushing the body. Happy running everyone

Well done you. Sounds like you are really motivated. I get lots of grumbly aches and pains too. I find if I just try to keep moving and slow down or rest a day or two if need be, I am ok. I still run really slow though. So I’m sure you will be fine if you take that sensible approach.Running on the sea wall sounds fun.

Hi- yes I recognise all that you are saying. I’m very slow too but am gradually ( very gradually ) feeling stronger. Thanks for replying!

Hi Mittymoo, it's nice to mix it up a bit. You've reminded me, with your mention of backache that I've let my core exercises slide the last couple of weeks.

I've been fantasising about running barefoot on a sandy beach!

Hey it’s so good to hear from you !!! Yes to running barefoot on a beach. I hope you get to do it - I have often found your descriptions of your runs magical

Well done Mittymoo! I love your name, by the way, it just sounds fun 🤩. I’m pleased your body feels as though it’s reset, and looking forward to a 40 minute run. How lovely to be by the sea 🌊 too. All the best! 🏃‍♀️👏🏼😊

Ah brilliant! Well done. I think there’s a gremlin in the machine as there’s no pic. I had real problems trying to post earlier - the internet is broken today apparently! 😁

Two different problems.

There's a known problem with the image resize/convert function on main post images. The admins posted about that one yesterday. That's being worked on.

The other is that Fastly, a Content Distribution Network (a sort of distributed web cache) fell over this morning, and is slowly recovering.
