So, my first time running after work. Hydrated throughout the day well, had my banana about an hour before the start. Everything was set up perfectly. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail and all that jazz.
Same routine as ever. Pop Laura on, wait for her to say go and pop MapMyRun on to keep track of pace and route. Quick look at my watch to ‘belt and braces’ the start time. Off we go!
About half way I began to wonder why Laura wasn’t speaking. Maybe Week 9 was where she started to wean us off her mid-run encouragement. You know, she’s there when we need her but not when we want her. Continued on with a smile. She was teaching us a lesson in self reliance. How lovely. Got to what I thought was 5 mins to go and figured the same. Wow. She really trusts us to do this.
Then it dawned on me. Did my app stop? 😳🥺😩
Oh yes it did! Got out my phone to check MapMyRun to realise I’d been running for 31 minutes!! Bloomin heck! My C25k app had stopped after 3.5 minutes.
A nice way to start my final week - at least I can run for 30 minutes - but a little lesson in making sure my phone is clicked off when I pop it in my hydration vest!

Congratulations on that 30 minute run, Mapmyrun also has a talking feature, did you not hear your split times? When I do my runs, occasionally I pick a week from C25K, usually R3W5, 6 or 9, I also have Mapmyrun going as well, anyway good luck for your graduation run 🏃🏾 😊 👍.
Thanks! I’d switched the talking feature off in MapMyRun in week 1 as I found it interfered with the C25k app interval announcements. I like to check all the data after my run - pace etc - so I don’t get too disheartened during the run.
But, thanks for mentioning as I might switch on some of the talking features after graduation so I can keep an eye on time, distance etc!
I had a really similar thing on the same run! (but Laura abandoned me after 15 minutes) I had the thoughts you had too, maybe you don't get the usual reminders in the last week, surely she'd say when there was 5 minutes left? 1 minute? Aaah! I'd been finding it tough that day anyway so at the back of my mind I was also thinking that maybe the time was just going slowly. I keep my phone in an inside pocket and kept going over the 30 minutes before I let myself peep.
Hopefully the next 2 runs will be a doddle for you now, good luck!
I had the opposite problem today. Set off for W8R2 and was only a few steps away from the house when Sanjeev told me the 5 minute walk was over. Reset the walk but after 5 mins, instead of telling me to get ready to run, he congratulated me on completing the full run. I was tempted to think "If you say so Sanj" and head back but I resisted! Obviously he was having a bad day and couldn't wait to get the session over with. I hope he hasn't given up on me completely...
