Better prep, slowed down, stayed hydrated. Then, in true idiot fashion reminiscent of my NHS bosses, I got target fixation. I knew where the halfway point on my “there and back” route was to reach the fabled 5k total. Tried too hard early on, obviously didn’t make the point and got dejected on the way back. It was as I finished it dawned on me. 24 or so runs ago I was elated to do 60 then 90 seconds. Today I just ran for 30 mins. Non stop. (Apart from the herd of cows blocking the second gate in the field!!)
Another lesson on mental barriers and giving yourself a break. I’ll know for next time. S** the destination, enjoy the journey. That halfway point will come when it’s ready.

Ha ha! Thank you - me too. Lost my way a bit now though. Still running but floundering somewhat. I’m on holiday in a couple of weeks-i will re-evaluate after that. Let us know how you get on with your graduation.
Well done you👍! I’m doing my W9R2 tomorrow and the big day is Monday. Was initially doubting myself but I’ve done it once so why not again- hydrating today and roll on Monday - from a serious non runner to this in 9 weeks really is a miracle !! See you at the finish line 🏁🏃♀️🏃♀️
