Well done. Tell me all about it - feeling whilst running? Any doubts during run?

Think of me this time tomorrow as I do my first w8r1.

Oh! Of course! My very first 5 min are like : ‘oh I won’t finish it today, but hey no worries it’s not olympics’ or ‘I slept so bad last night, no wonder if I won’t end the run’, or even ‘who are you kidding? ‘ And then like a magic spell I keep going, taken by the rythme, by the beauty of nature and thoughts like: ‘you can do it’, ‘you’re stronger than you think’, ‘don’t give up’, ‘I’m proud of you!’ come and I calm down and the satisfaction is overcompensating literally everything.

I never have ever in my entire life run more than 10 min nonstop. I still can’t believe this is happening.

So don’t give up! Don’t surrender to negative thoughts! Be strong! And listen to your body, it will take you far. Good luck for tomorrow.

Thank you for your reply. So good to hear, I am the same. Just finished my W8r1. First 5 mins felt like I am never going to do this today. By 10mins I was in a good rythmn Then I had a little wobble with legs and breathing but told my self I could do it and why give up half way round. By 20 mins comfortable homeward bound. Last 6 mins good. Then finished on 29 mins as did a bit extra. All good. I haven’t run since I was at school 40yrs ago. So this is major for me and such an achievement. Would never believe I could run for 28 mins ever. I did it today :)

Me too! I still can’t believe it! But lots of it is thanks to this platform and all of you kind and understanding people. I’m sure without it I would’ve lost hope and motivation. And reading all others’ stories helps so much! Put you into perspective!

Yes, it's a very supportive forum , I found it invaluable when I was on C25k , even now on the bridge to 10k forum

Thank you !

I had never run in my life before I started this on 24th May last year , and having also suffered with depression and anxiety I can relate to your journey !

Perhaps this post from my run today may also help you to realise what you can do after C25k also ! 😁

Amazing! I want to keep going , I want this to become my daily life, I want to get further and faster, and once at ease with 30 min I’ll challenge myself! But one day at a time!

Well done.👍I remember this run only a few of weeks ago. It was the first time 5k didn’t seem so ridiculous any more.

I’d learnt in wk7 that there were definitely going to be moments where I would be convinced I’d have to stop, but if I kept going it WOULD get better.

And it’s a great feeling afterwards!
