Firstly, I am so very proud to say that my wife ran her W1R1 this morning.
Secondly, I ran my W9R3 at the same time. 30 mins and 5K coinciding nicely - that just seems to be my natural speed.
We set off together and I scuttled away to do my run whilst she did hers, and then as I neared the end I spotted a vision in Ron Hill yellow... I caught up and we ran the last 100 yards together. A celebratory coffee and my car dropped off for its service and it's only just gone 8:00!!
Please Mr/s/miss moderator, how do I get my shiny Graduate badge?
PS. Thank you to everyone on here for all your support and encouragement; your words of advice and suggestions of how to do/not to do things. It has all been so very helpful. Without you, I doubt I would be posting this message today, but would have given up at some point. Thank you.

Thanks for the message, and for the link. I shall do that forthwith. Now, there's a word I haven't used for a while. Happy running to you, and may the wind be always at your back.
Thank you so much. I must admit that it has been fun, except for when it was really, really cold! Now I shall be consolidating and repeating C25K as my wife's running partner. Our son has also started and is on W5 away at Uni. He is fit and is finding it easy. A former rower who rose to be 3rd in the country.
Thanks. Yes, it is, rather. I keep finding myself looking for places to run, off-road running courses, new shoes [shh, don't tell the wife!], running mags in shops etc.Happy running to you.
Thanks, and thank you for all the support and words of wisdom - not least of which was to slow down! Very wise indeed, and if I could ever presume to offer any advice myself, it would be to go slow and steady. As for smiling - I'm beaming from ear to ear!
Our son, when he was a rower, used to carry our dog around and chat to the girls... she was just a little ball of fluff then, but I'd love to see him try and carry her now!
Well done to both of you! I bet you feel great! You should be very proud that A. You did it! and B. You convinced someone else to do it! Let us know how your wife gets on and you with the consolidation runs ✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾
Thank you! I am delighted that she has bitten-the-bullet and has started. I will run with her if she wants me to, and also do my consolidation ones before seeing if I move on to longer runs. I must admit that as I was nearing the end I did think that I only need to turn around and do it again for a 10K - not there and then, but in the future!
Dymanic! Dynamic! I think you need to pop to Specsavers! Thank you. I started out wondering if I would ever get past that dreadful-looking W5R3, but I did. I ran that way too fast and that taught me a lot.Thank you to everyone for all your support, and here's to 'er indoors cracking on with hers.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now we are set free to run as we wish. Consolidation. On-road - off-road. 5K, 30 mins or more... the joys of being a fully-fledged runner!!
