First run of week 9 with my daughter for support. I found it very difficult and kept trying to run on the easiest stretches of pathway but at the end she encouraged me to finish at 5k, so quite an achievement! Knee’s a bit sore now but hopefully 2nd run in a couple of days and graduation soon!

Please don't do more than the plan asks of you, otherwise the sore knee can become an injury to stop you in your tracks.

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

That's wonderful, but be careful with that knee! Maybe take an extra rest day before the next run to be sure it's recovered, and also make sure you are stretching after every run. Just do the 30 minutes for the rest of week 9, your knee will be better prepared for a 5k when you've done that. (And don't forget to slow down if you're struggling)
