Hello my wonderful virtual friends, and a very happy Easter!! I had to take a couple of days off, and very nearly lost all motivation- but I’m back!
Today is the first time I think I can actually state that I ‘nailed’ a run. In other words, I didn’t spend the entirety waiting for it to end / finish wanting to vomit or collapse etc- I found I could keep going, AND could possibly lengthen my snail steps! Before I get too ahead of myself, I still am brighter than fluorescent pink, and am overtaken by EVERY SINGLE OTHER RUNNER. But I couldn’t care less as I can genuinely see my own progress!! Which makes me VERY HAPPY.
My question to others who have made it this far and more; how did you find w5r3?? Any tips or tricks to persevere through?
Hope you all have a wonderful day!! I shall be on my couch with a sack load of chocolate for the entirety of the rest of the day...but don’t feel half as guilty after my achievement this morning!

Well done on your progress and for getting out there. The secret of wk5 run 3 is not to worry about it. The work you have put in on the previous runs will get you through. Trust the programme and more importantly TRUST YOURSELF. You can do it, but take it slowly slowly and the feeling will be euphoric when you finish. Let us know how you get on but keep telling yourself you CAN do it. Good luck.
Me & u both but I’ve got cake as well as chocolate 😀 don’t think about it that definitely is the key start off slow and steady and read the link above !! Lots if really good advice and information. I did both and it helped me through tremendously. YOU CAN DO IT !!
Go slow, you are in it for the long run!! Its great not to be stopping and starting and you ran for 16 minutes today so whats 4 more minutes 😁 enjoy your sofa and choc, very well deserved!!
I’ve just come in from completing this run (I’ve started again after a break from C5K last year) When I completed this last year I was incredibly nervous to the point of having knots in my tummy and voices on my head telling me it’s such a long time to run non stop.
This time around, I was looking forward to it because I knew I could complete it. It’s definitely mind of matter as others have said - try not to count in your head or measure with how many tunes or podcast chapters you listen to. Just enjoy it and stay slow; really slow. Hardest bit is the warm down walk - my legs were like jelly! Good luck - you will be great!
