W8R1 Nailed it!

I finally got through W8R1 last night after a miserable attempt last week which ended in failure (it was very hot though).

I had one of those runs when you just know it's going to be a good right from the start. Although, in the last minute I found myself saying "Come on Sanjeev, talk to me" (I have the BBC app). What a wonderful feeling it was when he told me to slow down to a walk

Just a couple of runs left for W8, then my better half and me fly off to Spain for our Daughter's wedding. Can't wait to do W9 in the sunshine. Oh... the wedding will be nice too

Thanks Oldfloss. Sorry for the late reply, they had the actual legal wedding at Warwick register office yesterday with eight guests. It was a lovely day but my head is banging this morning!

The Spanish wedding (well, blessing really) will be next week in a lovely open-air chapel. Can't wait

Wonderful... we had a registry office ceremony and then a Blessing service too

44 years is good going nowadays. Good for you both. I have been happily married to Annie for 28 years. All I can say is "it's not enough".

It is good going.. we have a lot of fun... I still have the 'speech' my Dad made.. he forgot he had to make one..! he was very over excited and emotional.. he wrote it on the back of an opened out matchbox that he borrowed!!! Short and sweet!!!

I was very emotional yesterday. I don't know how I'll react when I see her in her "proper" wedding dress

Well done!! Did second W8 run yesterday and it has been a challenge, but did find myself thinking that another 2 mins I could probably cope with. It's so exciting to see the end in sight and I am chuffed for you. As has been said before - there is no failure just a practice run. Good luck for Spain and go out early or very late!!! Xx

Thanks MoGr. I went out for my second W8 run on Wednesday and thought I could do the extra two minutes too. I'm so glad you're nearly there too. We will hopefully get our graduation badges at the same time
