I completed W9R1 yesterday. I have noticed that after every run, I get an irritated feeling in my windpipe and I keep needing to cough. Not a chesty cough, more like an irritating tickley cough.
I manage to run for the full distance, I get a little breathless but nothing major and my breathing gets back to normal fairly quickly during my cool down walk.
Does anyone else get this issue? I did read about exercise induced asthma, but I don’t know if this is serious or whether I should see my GP. I have no underlying health conditions and would say I’m quite fit for my age (45).
Any advice appreciated.

At this time of year it could very easily be hay fever. A large proportion of the population actually have an allergic reaction to certain pollens but because it is not extreme they do not get a diagnosis.
When you run can you speak aloud clear ungasping sentences as you run? If not, you are going too fast.
I hadn’t considered hay fever, but it does seem obvious now. Shouldn’t listen to dr google! I do suffer mildly with it, so I’ll try antihistamines and see if it helps.
