You are so ready for this if wk 2 was ok, just go into it nice and slow and let us know how you get on so we can cheer you on

Did you complete week 2 ?If so , you will be physically ready for week 3 ! 😁

And it's 2 runs less than week 2 !! 😁

As always, keep it slow and you'll be fine 👍

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

The first runs of every week in the earlier stages are a challenge. The biggest mistake many of us make when we start C25K is to try and run too fast. If you are can't talk without gasping for breath, you are going too fast.

Back in December I got to the end of week four before having to take six weeks out due to impact injuries to my knees. When I started again I found week three the ideal one to restart on....a bit of a challenge but not too much. So much so I repeated it about six times before moving on.

I'm now on W8R2 tomorrow.

Good luck.

Difficult to kickstart? Did you attempt to do run 1 of week 3 and it didn’t go as planned?

Don’t be deflated, it’s ok. If you tell us what you struggled with we can help! ☺️

Yes the past two weeks I’ve done no problems and today’s run was more difficult. I will take the advice and try again tomorrow think I need to work on my breathing too . Will update you tomorrow. Thanks 👍

Did you run today? If you did then don’t try and run tomorrow- rest days in between are really important.

Good luck for your next run! ☺️

A huge part of the achievement of Couch to 5K is learning to 'sit with' those voices telling you negative stuff. Hear them but not believe them.

Give yourself a treat to look forward to..... when I complete wk 3 I will.... doesn’t have to be bought, just something you feel is a reward to yourself. Have a quick read through the positive posts on this forum before you go out-it always helps to put me in the right frame of mind to get out for a run 🏃‍♀️

Hi, I've just completed Week 3 Run 1 and can understand the feeling.

Its the thought of running for 3 mins that seems daunting at first. Just follow the advice from everyone else, Week 2 conditions you, and don't try and force it. The hints in the run itself are also very helpful, i.e. if you are bobbing up and down you are wasting energy, keep it slow and smooth, its not a race.

One positive note is that the amount of actual running time is actually less than Week 2! So keep going, you've got this! :-)

Your right I am over thinking the 3 mins . So I’m going to clear my head and try again .👍

Not pain I have quite bad asthma and I think I’m over thinking my breathing so just going to try and forget yesterday and and go in with a clear mindset see how I go .👍
