Followed the advice and got blister plasters first thing! Totally brilliant invention and never heard of them til came on here. Was going to wait until early Tues am for 2nd run (from sat pm) but 6.45pm and kids playing up thought now's as good as time as any! Borrowed husbands size 8 running trainers which fitted lovely (for now til get my own! My sister dropped her trainers to work today for me to try...too small and won't be doing that again!!!) And left.

Lots of changes this time considering was meant to be more organised and felt quite teary on-route which was odd. Found legs heavier than the first run (did a slow 2hr walk up mountain yesterday with kids) forgot baseball cap today (to hide), went on the only lit + flat route on a busy main road as it was getting dark, which combined made me feel exposed, leggings kept falling down so had to keep pulling them up (not the nicest view for cars behind!) Music was all to hell as couldn't find the non app version I used sat with good beat and no words, so used app and found a BBC pace mix with Lauras voice, which was great for pacing the very brisk walk but not for the running part. Seen group of kids from my oldest son's comp and cursing myself for not wearing baseball cap! Couldn't wait to get home!!!

Got to back garden to do the stretches with YouTube video, thought garden have peace and quiet (did my own last time) and all was well til had to lay on floor lol, so went inside and did on kitchen floor with kids trying to have conversation :) Think I'll leave the next run for few days and go morning with less cars, less people and baseball cap! If someone had offered me a balaclava today, I'd have gladly accepted it!!! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

On the plus side the running shop Cardiff answer machine says they're doing online gait? for trainers, so with birthday approaching, gonna be present this yr (instead of visit to hair dressers... and they're fully booked!) happy days โ˜บ

Yikes where to begin ๐Ÿ‘€The easy one that haircut ๐Ÿ‘ go d.i.y save money it's all the rage

Those trainers please let's get that gait analysis sorted and those tootsies into something for for purpose, a pair that actually fit โœ…

Those heavy legs that's a water issue as in your probably dehydrated we want you to drink that water, ideally 2 ltrs a day it'll make the all the difference.

Falling down leggings hmmmm, ๐Ÿค” are they running leggings, for ladies try the brand "sweaty betty" others are available, it'll save a world of embarrassment ๐Ÿ™ˆ.

Good luck next time out ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Hi Imc50 :) Thanks for reply, think the 3 inch roots need to go...another bonus to having the baseball cap ๐Ÿ™ˆ Yes gonna try get appt to be assessed for new trainers sorted asap.

Wow water for the heavy legs.. I'll definitely keep check on that ๐Ÿ‘managed 2 pints before this evening and 2 pints after run, should probably have had more before run ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Will definitely look at those leggings thank you ๐Ÿ˜ yes they're running ones with side pocket to fit mobile and have been fine for walks but no good for running. Maybe I need braces to keep them up!

Think the morning runs be better for now ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you

I wouldnโ€™t drink loads of water before a run or itโ€™ll slosh about, drink all day every day to keep hydrated steady intake of water whether you are running that day or not, other benefits are bright eyes and clear skin, whatโ€™s not to like? Glad you found the blister plasters

Now you've got me thinking of the Art Garfunkel song, and that unfortunate kid on Tiswas. ๐Ÿคฃ

Tiswas is what we watched when our parents weren't looking, then switched over to Swap Shop if we heard them coming. ๐Ÿคฃ

Get proper running socks for left and right feet. They are marked. Best things. Never had a blister. Socks are so important. Have special ones for my walking boots too. Good luck.

Hi Pollywobble ๐Ÿ™‚ Tescos didn't have the proper socks but managed to get sports socks in there, for heels I think it said as a quick fix. Also new trainers and gait measuring are in planning phase, as I went out n trainers half size too small ouch! Thank you for reply โ˜บ

Will make all the difference. Shoes and teeth. Always important through life. When the children were young always had feet measured every 3 months and dentist every 4 months. Children balked against both but have done the same for their children. Thanked me for both. Lol good luck

Hi Pollywobble, That's brilliant advice ๐Ÿ™‚ I was miners strike kid but mam always made sure we were measured and had clarks shoes and dentist visits important in our house too โ˜บ Just need to look after my own feet as an adult (like I do with the kids๐Ÿ™ƒ)
