I have hit a huge wall on week 8 run 3. I have attempted it 3 times now and can't get passed 10 mins running, I have slowed it down I have been focusing on hydration, on my breathing, but I cant get passed it.
It does not help I have a significant pain under my left toe.
Mentally I'm so motivated to achieve the couch to 5k so I really don't belive it's a mental block as I look forward to every run but today frustration has set in and I could do with some advice.
Thanks in advance!

Please don’t cry 🤗! Take a week off. If the pain is significant you need to address that first. Cannot advice how as I have never had this kind of pain. And secondly I strongly believe it is a mental challenge. I am really looking forward to each run, however during the run I start questioning why I am doing it as it is not easy every single time. Take time off, come back refreshed. Or maybe go back and repeat previous weeks? Just a thought.
Take some time out, a few days or maybe a week, just give yourself a little time and assess how you are actually feeling. If you are feeling like you need to cry about your frustration at not achieving what you want then just just be kind to yourself, just don’t think about it for a few days it’ll be ok.
I’m willing to bet that if you’re not feeling 100% emotionally or if you’re a little tired (even if you don’t feel it) this may be the cause. Life can wear us down without us even realising it - just watching the news for 20mins will bring us down a few notches!
You know you can do it - you’ve done it twice before.
The pain in your foot needs addressing if it is significant.
Sending you loads of positive vibes ☺️
Firstly 🤗 a healing hug now tissues 🤧 nose blow and tears dried.
There's always an answer those toes sound like metatarsalgia, definitely not life threatening, definitely mendable
That 10minute run ok you've slowed it down, but try segmenting it it's only 5 x 2mins. You can get through this, but let's get that toe issue sorted to give you a fighting fit starting point 👍
I have problems with metatarsalgia and understand how painful it can be. I wear metatarsal pads on both feet every day. The ones I use are by Ballotte (Amazon) - very soft - easy to put on and off and make a huge difference (I am still able to run three times a week). Worth a try perhaps ?
Hi Sending you huge hugs 🤗 and tissues. You need a few days off, you know u can do it, it is just your toe that is stopping u, dont give up, just give yourself a few days to get your toe sorted.
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
