I canโ€™t believe Iโ€™ve got this far and will be running for 25 mins at the end of this week! Very proud of myself at almost 55 and not a runner. Iโ€™m determined to complete the 9 weeks before being called back to the office... Any tips for sore calves/shin splints, Iโ€™ve invested in good trainers but what about compression socks?

Well done, you are doing great.

The guide to the plan has advice on minimising impact, hydration, strengthening exercises, stretching after every run and foam rollers, all of which will help.

Compression socks may well help, but developing the musculature is the best way forward.
