Well its over 5 months since I started a little c25k group in my village in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. When I initially announced the intention on our community facebook page, it was simply to prompt another to complete the programme alongside me. A bit of two way moral support. What I got was six ladies keen to complete the challenge! Well, what with Covid19 restrictions, the creation of a whatsapp group has been a real bonus. We pop a run intention on there, and another member pops up and joins the first. My challenge to keep them moving in 2021, is the 500 mile challenge. To run 500 miles this year. Thats only about 10 miles a week when you analyse it. Or 19 marathons. My runs this week of 2x 5k+ and 1x 7.5k are keeping us on target.

This is definetely the type of thing that keeps people going and positive in these horrendous times, good for you for starting up the group- you must all feel a massive sense of achievement and mental well being for setting challenges and achieving them. Well done, all of you.🤸👏Keep going!!

As I approach the end of October, despite a few very wet runs recently, I am now very close to reaching my target. 491 miles completed. I don't expect any difficulty in exceeding the 9 remaining miles in the two remaining months.
