FINALLY completed Week 5 Run 3

It’s been a while since I have been on here but I wanted to share that I have finally completed Week 5 Run 3. This is my 3rd attempt of trying to do the Couch to 5k program in over a year and I have always got up to Week 5 Run 2 and then stopped. I don’t know know whether it’s because Run 3 has always scared me and subconsciously I’ve made myself believe that I won’t be able to do it or just that I wasn’t ready to do the run.

Last night I came on here to get some inspiration and read tips on how to get through the run and this morning I finally did run 3 and loved it. I’m not going to lie, the first few minutes were tough but I remembered to slow down and soon got my breathing and pace right and ran for 20 minutes for the first time ever. I am over the moon and can’t stop smiling. Thank you, couldn’t have got through this without reading your inspiring posts.

Well done, that is a milestone run.

Stay nice and slow for the next run..........it catches out more people than any other run in the programme.

Brilliant!

Aside from W1R1, W5R3 is the biggest pyschological hurdle in the whole program - as you've discovered!

But that's all it is - your body was ALWAYS ready for it, it's just that your head told you differently.

NOTHING else in the program should faze you now. Get through Week 6 and then it's the home straight of Weeks 7, 8 and 9. Eyes on the prize!

I have to warn you that this run has the unfortunate side effect of a grin that lasts all day and an irrational urge to brag about your accomplishment to any and all you meet.

Well done on completing week 5 run 3 .As already said , you will now be smiling all day 😬

Be mindful of week 6 runs 1 and 2 as going back to walk intervals catches a few out !
