One step backwards will really be two steps forward!

I’m sure I’m not alone but January has been one of those months I’ll be pleased to see the back of!

Until Christmas, I’d managed at least 2 runs a week but back with a bump to work on the 4th and I went back to my bad couch habits... not strictly speaking true... work ramped back up to 10 or 11 hour days and so I didn’t have the emotional energy to get out in the evening when it’s often been cold or wet, or my dinner has been put on the table making it impossible to run before bed time. Even my daily 7 exercises stopped 😢

At that point my confidence started to slip and 20 minute runs once a week were about as good as it got. I was knackered after a run 😞

So... 1st of February is tomorrow and I don’t want to let this running thing go. I’d worked so hard to get to graduate from C25k and it made me feel good 😁

Today was the start of getting my legs working again with a 2 hour walk and some home exercise. Tomorrow I want to start half way into C25k and get back into a routine. Here’s hoping 🤞

I am just the same. I can’t seem to get going. Down to one run a week, and a slow one at that. My hours are crazy and just can’t get myself motivated. I will look to see how you are going and see if I can get myself up and out. As you say tomorrow is a new month. We can do it!

I totally hear you MM! January has been dire, I’ll be glad to see the back of it too.

You’re clearly not going to let this running thing go 😎 We all have our setbacks but your mojo sounds as healthy as ever 🙌🏼

Here’s to happy running in February!

January wasn't great for me either but for different reasons. I overdid it at the end of December and had to rest my right knee for a fortnight. Then we had the storm...

I was so glad to see your post.. it’s good to know we are not alone! Bad weather, busy work, sore shoulder for a couple of weeks... I just went out once last week and once the week before 25 and 30 minutes very slow..It’s so hard to get motivated isn’t it. If we could go the gym I might have managed a bit of fill in on the treadmill, but Running in snow and ice is really not for me,,, good luck with February!

I'm with you totally! Never mind January, I've been aiming at one run a week since November! My minimum is 20mins, sometimes I manage a 30min run. Haven't run for 2 weeks now, so back to it tomorrow evening and see how it goes. It's running in the dark I don't like, that and windy rain.
