Hi there

I’m on w8 of c25k. When I’ve completed it I want to run a 5k. Are there any apps that I can use where I input the distance I want to run and it lets me know when I’ve reached it?

Many thanks in advance

Any of the tracking apps such as Runkeeper, Strava, Mapmyrun etc. will tell you when you have reached 5k if you set up the notifications.

Thank you, that’s really helpful! I’ve just played around with my Strava app and think I’ve set it up correctly now 👍

Take it easy after graduation. It is not compulsory but it's recommended to do about 10 more 30 minute Consolidation runs before moving on to increasing distance. You could follow one of Ju Ju's Magic Plans on this site or any other plan. First run slowly so you don't get injured and make sure you graduate!

I'm sure you will.

Ok great advice thank you!

At my current speed (slow) think I should get to 5k in maybe 35 mins so not much over the 30 mins

👍

That's not slow! The programme aims to get you running/jogging for 30 mins. After you've graduated you can consolidate by doing 3 x 30 mins per week for 2/3 weeks. You'll build up stamina and endurance. Then you can look at going further/faster or just enjoy. It's not all about speed or distance😃

Thank you, felt like it the other day when running into 18mph wind, that was a hard slog! More of the same today looking out the window 😬

Will definitely be doing consolidation runs after graduation! 👍

Oh my, you call 5K in 35 minutes slow? I dread to think what you think of my pace! I will need 46 minutes to reach 5K! Haven't reached it yet, am still doing consolidation runs of 30 mins.

Haha ok well I shall see; I possibly may have underestimated! I did manage 4K in around 29 mins (which was mistake as was meant to have stopped after 25mins) - watch this space, I shall update!

But yes I will definitely do some consolidation runs after graduation 👍

I love the Nike Run App, you can put in either distance or time and run on your own or there are loads of guided runs and 'Coach Bennett' coaches you as you run and you know exactly how far you have run. He even reminds you to turn round if you are doing an 'out and back!'

🏃‍♀️😀

Fabulous info, thank you! I’m a big fan of “out and back” seem to enjoy “back” more than “out”!
