Just went for my very first consolidation run, woopwoop! Consolidation, baby! And as it is weekend and I can run in the morning, it went better than my runs during the week after sitting at my desk the whole day. It went so well, I ran a bit further in 30 minutes than I normally do and yet I did not feel I went faster nor did I get into problems due to running apparently faster. I really thought I was snailing!
I do have an annoying problem though which does take a slight bit of fun out of it. I have a runny nose the whole run. I have had this happening for all my runs ever since I started in November. I fill up at least 3 handkerchiefs with my drippy nose in a run of 30 mins. But having to blow your nose every minute or every 2 minutes is annoying and breaks my pace and breathing the whole time. I have to say, I have this runny nose also during the day when not running and this ever since last February I think when I started with my monthly IV against artritis. But during the day it is not that bad, only during a run it feels as if the watertap is put on running. Very, very annoying. Anyhow nothing to do about it I guess, except keep dragging along enough handkerchiefs.
Anyways, on to CR2, which will be after work again and hence heavier... Hoping also that running at that time will grow easier over time!
Cheers, Evy

Cracking job on the consolidation run BlackScorpion ✅ these are where you start to learn more about running, about you as a runner, enjoy 👍
Belated congratulations for your graduation and well done for your first consolidation run! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Annoying about the nose running thing. Maybe it will improve in the summer.
Your pace is about the same as mine was, when I graduated in July. I desperately tried to improve too quickly. When I gave up and started running slower for longer, it improved anyway - but by the time I was running for 10K it was no longer so important, especially when I had 10 miles and a HM in my sights!
The most important thing is to enjoy the freedom of these consolidation runs! You’re a runner now and can just go out (with handkerchiefs!) and run!
Snailing is great!😊 But I do like to think I can speed if I want. Even then, I sometimes get the feeling I’m just snailing a bit faster, but that’s ok, too 😂
No, I react badly on antihistamines, at least the ones I tried. But since it started when my IV's started, I guess it has something to do with it? I never asked my doc because I find it such a weird / stupid question. But maybe I should ask. On the other hand, the IV's do their work and are the least harmfull version of IV's available. So I think I just have to live with it. I run with 2 handkerchiefs in my pockets and 1 in my hand 😂
Ah well done on cr1 and interesting that you naturally ran faster, did you find it easier than previous runs? I guess there's no other option than hankies for the snottiness 🤔
I find that my eyes have been watering during runs but put that down to the cold air. It doesn't help that the drops from my eyes splatter onto my glasses and leave me having to peer through them to see where I'm going. I might try contact lenses but worried that watery eyes might wash them out while running.
I did find it easier than my previous runs, but I think that has to do with it being weekend (well rested) and running in the morning (instead of the afternoon after a whole day sitting behind my desk). Going for CR2 after work today, so I'll see what that says.
I did have pain in my knee after CR1 though, which got worse by the evening. Consulting doctor Google, it might have been my inner knee-bands with as reason of the pain my flat feet. I normally wear arch supports in my regular shoes, but I don't in my running shoes. And doctor Google says that that might lead to strain on the inner knee-bands, leading to injury. The shop where I buy my personalized arch supports is closed now, but I ordered a pair online yesterday (not personalized) and they just arrived (fast fast delivery!). Going to try them out in my run today (my knee doesn't hurt anymore at the moment), together with a knee-bandage. I hope that will solve the problem!
I used to wear contact lenses, but after many years my eyes don't like them anymore. I only use day-contact lenses no for swimming and wear my glasses the rest of the time. Not that I swim a lot, like maybe 2 times a year, haha. I don't get watery eyes (yet - I have enough with the snotty nose), but my mother does get it when she is walking outside. With her it is the combination of cold and wind.
Wow that was fast delivery, I hope your arch supports sort out the problem with knee pain. I've been watching videos which show that often knee pain is caused quite a long way away from the knee so it sounds feasible that might be the cause.
I might give daily disposable lenses a try, at least it won't be a big investment.
