Today’s run did not go as planned! Long story short, I got some new earphones for Christmas and with about 13 mins left to run my music cut out completely. I kept running (I don’t know how long for) and eventually with some faffing I sorted it out. BUT - I didn’t notice that the C25K podcast had also paused 😭 so I had NO IDEA how long I’d been running for and it was way too late to push play! I really wanted to complete the 25 min run, so I kept running until I felt like maybe I’d done it. But I find my concept of time to be very warped when I’m running so I couldn’t know for sure, hence why I really need the podcast! I did text my partner before I went out, and I looked at the time I got back which gave me an rough idea that I was probably out for close to the amount of time that I was supposed to be. I also looked at the distance I covered. After run 2 I’d done 4.5k, today I did 4.8k so I did go a bit further. I feel like maybe I undershot it by a couple of minutes. But I can’t be sure.
Basically, I have no idea whether or not I ran 25 mins! Probably not! But I suppose either way, I must have done a pretty decent run to have covered slightly more distance! And every run is an accomplishment! And I know I get 3 more shots at this run next week so I won’t worry! I’m sure that if I had the podcast, I would have successfully done it. I will sort out my headphones, but on Sunday I’m gonna use my old headphones just to be on the safe side. I’m also gonna start setting a timer in the background on my phone so should anything like this happen again I’ll still have some idea of how long I’ve been out for. You live and you learn! 😂 I think I’ve earned a turkey sandwich!
