An unintentional PB for 5k was swiftly followed by an unmitigated disaster.
It was lashing with rain last night and as I was determined to get my three runs in for this week I reluctantly stepped into the treadmill instead. I like the opportunity the treadmill gives me to push myself only a little bit; when I run outside I’m in it for the enjoyment, the stars, the birds, the...mud? Anyway, I set myself out at a comfortable pace and increased it to a slightly less comfortable pace and voila! A 5k PB. I cooled down into a walk for ten minutes and did some stretches on the treadmill.
Stepped off it and.....completely misjudged (how?!) and fully rolled my ankle. Thought nothing of it really, other than oh dear I’m an idiot, but awoke this morning to pain. Can weight bear, hurts only when at rest. A sprain caused by my own idiocy?!
Wow, well done on the pb that's something to remember for when your ankle gets better again. So sorry about the trip. Hopefully rest will sort you out but there is probably some good advice around on how to treat it for best recovery.
Sprained ankle just before Christmas. HHmmmm. Sounds like you might have to do some workouts with your drinking arm and lifting that tub of Celebrations...Hopefully it gets better by Sunday!!!
