Waterproof running shoes?

Hiya,

I was wondering, does anyone have waterproof running shoes? Now the weather is turning bad more often, chances are I will run in rain or maybe even snow. My running shoes are not waterproof. Ran through a moist patch of grass and my socks were soaked.

So does anyone use waterproof running shoes? What brand / type can you recommend?

Cheers, Evy

Shoes that don't let water in don't let it back out again............I would rather have free draining shoes than try to squelch along after standing in a puddle. You can get waterproof socks.

I can only find waterproof cycling socks, are they also good?

I have no idea.........I don't mind wet feet.

Hi BlackScorpion, I'm with IannodaTruffe on this I've only brooks running shoes, but on really wet runs especially if I'm in the mud wearing the cascadias the waters in and out as quick, the same with my adrenalines, now I now the new brooks ghosts come in a gortex version but that water is still going to find a way in, waterproof socks mmmmm perhaps but are they going to help, will they let your feet breathe and having wicking ability.........

Shoes that are truly waterproof tend to also keep the sweat in too. Thick socks with synthetic/wool mixes tend to not keep your feet cold when they're wet.

Cotton mixtures are cold when wet.

Hiking or skiing socks are good for cold, wet weather.

I ordered a pair of Sealskinz socks which should be waterproof. They have wool in them though and I am allergic to wool. So curious whether my feet are allergic too and I will be itching after a minute or not!

Evy, I'm interested to hear how you get on with the Sealskinz socks. I had the same problem yesterday, soaked feet...

I'll try to remember to post my review once I have them PLUS when I tested them in rain or wet grass or so 😊. Might as well be I won't be able to wear them if I react allergicly. Then I can still buy their warm weather socks, they don't have wool in them. I now bought the all weather sock, WITHOUT Hydrostop. I read that the Hydrostop edge can irritate the skin on your leg and I get easily irritated skin. So I chose to go for the version without the Hydrostop.
