This is my first post! I am 59 and have competed at Latin American Dancing for many years but Covid-19 had put a complete stop to this. I needed something to replace it and Couch to 5 K has been brilliant! I am doing my 3rd run in week 7 tonight and really looking forward to it. I am a heavy lad so I have put a lot of emphasis on the strength training on the rest days. I feel for me this is vital. I just love the challenge. It is 30 years since I last ran regularly. Scary!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.

That’s a great idea, to replace your dancing with running. The strength training is also a good idea. I have just graduated from the C25k today, and feel a sense of achievement. This running programme will help us to a happier healthier future for sure! Well done for getting so far.
Scary indeed. But the feelings you get from knowing you're doing something that you've not done for years is amazing 🤘
