Hey fellow runners! Yeah that’s right.... I feel like runner !! Week 5 run 3 under the belt of my leggings!

So yesterday I was like hmm.... no way can I run for 20 minutes ... I did the 8 and 8 and it was hard so I thought to myself, I’ll give it a go, see what I can do. I woke up knowing I was going out for the day and night and would be having a few drinks more than likely ! So I wanted to get the run in, or in my mind just try too then I still had the weekend to try it again if I couldn’t quite do it!

So I put my trainers on, got my water ready and stepped on the treadmill (this is how I have been building up my fitness and confidence!)

I put my music on and started the app, walked for 5 mins... then there was Jo Wiley telling me I was going to run for 20 minutes! I had a little chuckle and eye roll to myself, “yeah okay Jo, we will see”

Anyway - as the second song on my play list came to an end I had done my 8 minutes, I felt good, I was steady and strong, bit of a burn in the legs but a good burn!! I checked the time as I say, only had 12 to go, suddenly 12 minutes didn’t feel so long!! 20 minutes didn’t feel so bad. I thought in 2 more songs time I will have less than 5 minutes - MAYBE I could actually do this !!

Yeh trouble with the treadmill is there isn’t much to concentrate on, so I started really listening to the music, to the lyrics and beats and stuff...woohoo next time I checked it was 6 mins to go !! Then 3 - then I stepped it up for the last 60 seconds! The song that was playing was “benny Page - front left” if anyone wants some runninv music this song for some reason makes me feel good and helps my pace !

As I powered down my treadmill for the walk, I felt on top of the world ! Don’t get my wrong I was sweating from places I didn’t know I had sweat glands 😂 but I bloody did it, I smashed it !!

5 weeks ago I was shocked at running for 2 minutes, now I can almost comfortable run for 20 !!

I don’t know how it works but it really does ☺️ I am looking forward to starting week 6 and I can’t actually wait to run for half hour, then try and get a bit quicker!!

Thank you to this community who have always helped me when I have had a question or a doubt!

Massive love to you all🙌🏻❤️

Me too this week - wasn’t quite near enough to home so ran the final 5 mins too as needed the loo!

Def on track for a 30 min 5k in a few weeks time so feeling extra motivated

For me it was canned heat - Jameroquai. Def felt like I had something extra in my feet 😊

Well done! I've got my Week 5 Run 3 tomorrow & i'm nervous but you've given me a bit of confidence to get out there & give it a good go. Its such a good feeling getting each run ticked off isn't it! I can't quite believe I've reached week 5.

Due to unforseen circumstances I didn't manage it until this evening but I did it!! When I got to the first 5 minutes I thought I'll never make it but I kept going and even managed a wee final burst for the last 2 minutes. Feeling pretty great about it.

Fantastic - I’ve just finished week 3 and am a bit daunted by the 20 min run! Hearing your story is really encouraging!!

Oh I am pleased !! Trust me I am the last person my friends and family would have ever thought would do this, and stick at it, and actually enjoy it !! I was so scared about it and I think that was making me doubt myself in every run to be honest, as I still though “yeah but I can’t do X” but I am starting to realise anything is actually possible !!

You will be great and you will surprise yourself ! X

Well done all! I did the W5R3 yesterday too and had a similar buzz from the fact that suddenly I was able to do a session without the walk in the middle. Was a great start to the weekend. My tune is ‘Feel it still’ by Portugal ... but I’m definitely adding ‘canned heat’ to the playlist! Bring on week six!!!

Fantastic run! Very well done. 👏👏👏 It’s such a clever programme isn’t it? 😀

Have ‘fun’ with W6. Don’t treat it lightly. You’ll be totally fine though - you have an amazing attitude. 👍 Just don’t rush R1 and R2. Unleash your snail and let it zip past you on those two runs! 🐌🐌🐌

Good luck! 😀

Me too, just home still a little pink faced! 😛

High 5 to you 🖐🏼 I didn't dwell on it too much just went for it feeling- hey lets give it a go. Had to restart cos the dog stopped to poop! But got my pace and groove on with the essential tunes and over the fields I went. Huzzah shouts JW and it's done, I was NOT re-starting no matter what.

Lungs getting fitter , waistline shrinking and feeeeling good 👏🏼👍🏼

Let's smash W6
